Pretty exciting things have been happening in Milan’s food scene in recent years. Milan Coffee Works – which roasts its delicious, organic, fair trade coffee on-site – is connected to the building that houses Mother Loaf Breads, which specializes in sourdoughs and supplies bread for neighboring Original Gravity Brewing Company’s sandwiches. Plus, The Owl offers up a space where you can grab both a coffee in the morning, and a craft beer or glass of wine later on. So there’s all that to tempt you - but a popular, even newer addition on the scene is the Life is Sweet Bakery & Cafe, which offers a cookie jar bar (you heard me). And finally, the Zilke Farm Kitchen helps customers have an honest-to-God farm-to-table meal, drawing from fresh ingredients from the Zilkes’ own vegetable farm so that customers may purchase prepped meal kits for use at home.
